In Vista Hermosa, Meta, a group of farmers decided to come together in an effort to voluntarily change their illegal crops for coffee plantations.
In 2019, we met Juan Camilo Mora, a politic science student who was doing his Peace Management Master's dissertation. Camilo spend more than two years with the community of Guapaya, a rural community located three hours away from Vista Hermosa's urban settlement.
Inspired by the work of Ángel María Muñoz, this community is at the center of the doccumentary "Guapaya. Sembrando vida y territorio", which tells the story of the voluntary substitution of illegal crops in the years prior of the Havannah Peace Agreements.
The story of Guapaya invites society to recognize its mistakes to learn from the past and face the future. This documentary tells the story of unity, solidarity and hard work of the communities that look for alternatives to a development that never arrived.
